ISP Africa.com, the conference and exhibition targeted at any business leveraging off the Internet, kicks off on 28 August. The conference will highlight key issues of the day, expounded upon by local and international representatives of Sun Microsystems, Novell, Hewlett-Packard, Intel and other major players in this market space.
Hot topics include the wireless revolution, making the most of e-business and realising the benefits of "business without boundaries". Open Internet platforms for combined data, voice, video services and standards, Internet access via DSL vs cable, vs satellite, and broadband remote access are among the topics to be discussed.
The experts will explore the nuts and bolts of virtual private networking, the ins and outs of Internet access via telephone, and the ups and downs in making the transition from Internet service provider to application service provider.
Spin-off technologies enabling business practices such as customer relationship management, direct marketing and forensic auditing of online behaviour patterns will also come under the spotlight.
The two-day conference will be hosted by Terrapinn (formerly AIC Worldwide) at the VW conference centre in Midrand.
