Sony Ericsson implements KeyTools` Quick-Q for information delivery

Johannesburg, 04 Nov 2004

KeyTools today announced that the field marketing surveys now undertaken by Sony Ericsson marketers utilising their `P` series products are underpinned by the application software written by KeyTools for its handheld devices and for the graphical user interface utilised by management and staff for access to the information stored in the database.

Sony Ericsson marketing staff, on their visits to various stores, answer numerous questions concerning sales, stock and various competitive activities via their P-series device and forward this information immediately to a database where it can be stored and utilised in the generation of reports that are required by management.

The database is hosted by KeyTools on its server under the auspices of the new ASP model that was announced in conjunction with MTN Network Solutions earlier this year. Access to the database utilises the KeyTools` TransPhormer product via a graphical user interface (GUI) also developed by the company.

"The impact of this solution has been very positive for Sony Ericsson," commented Richard Chalk, founder and CEO of KeyTools International. "Our relationship with Sony Ericsson continues to go from strength to strength and this latest solution is yet another confirmation of our unique offerings.

"We have utilised our `Quick-Q` product for this latest application," continued Chalk. "This successful example is one of many that can be exploited by clients in a similar way, thus enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of that organisation."

Apart from specific mobile applications such as GlobalOrder, KeyAccess, KeyGold, KeyLife and mobiSCAN; KeyTools has also developed TransPhormer, a browser-independent remote data transfer protocol, which is loaded onto a dedicated server or within a partition of an existing server and is fully scalable. It allows information to be transferred with reduced connectivity time, reduced security risk, reduced data throughput and increased accuracy to a PDA, eg palmtop, laptop and certain smart phones. When activated, TransPhormer enables data transmission via GPRS/GSM, HSCSD, or Bluetooth technologies, between the PDA and a company`s server that is hooked into its database, eg ERP, CRM, support and financial, therefore making mobile application commerce a realistic and cost-effective proposition.
