In November 2003, Sony Ericsson implemented arguably one of its best Web-based dealer incentive programs. The idea was to come up with an incentive program that was easy to launch to the trade, accessible to all dealer staff with access to a PC and Internet connection and to reward dealer staff almost instantaneously. Then it was a question of finding the right partner who could provide a solution that stacked up on all the criteria above.
KeyTools was extremely enthusiastic about the brief from the word go and showed a lot of willingness to deliver on all Sony Ericsson`s expectations. The company`s turnaround times and cost-effectiveness in implementing the initiative were major factors for Sony Ericsson to choose it as a business partner with regards the project.
The ease with which dealer staff could register and claim their prizes was so enticing to many dealer staff that the incentive was regarded as a resounding success. So successful was the campaign that Sony Ericsson decided to extend the promotion beyond the scheduled closing date of 24 December 2003 to the end of January 2004.
"We are very excited about this partnership and the Sony Ericsson activity that we are currently involved with," commented Richard Chalk, Founder and CEO of KeyTools. "This relationship with yet another major international organisation is fundamental to our growth and international expansion."
Apart from specific mobile applications such as GlobalOrder, KeyAssess, KeyLife and mobiSCAN, KeyTools has also developed TransPhormer, a browser-independent remote data transfer protocol, which is loaded onto a dedicated server or within a partition of an existing server and is fully scalable. It allows information to be transferred with reduced connectivity time, reduced security risk, reduced data throughput and increased accuracy to a PDA, eg palmtop, laptop and certain smart phones.
When activated, TransPhormer enables data transmission via GPRS/GSM, HSCSD, or Bluetooth technologies, between the PDA and a company`s server that is hooked into its database, eg ERP, CRM, support and financial, therefore making mobile application commerce a realistic and cost-effective proposition.
