Sony unveiled the Xperia Z1 at an exclusive media preview, in London, last night.
The phone is fairly big, but crammed full of features, and described by Sony as the "highest spec phone on the market".
The device is built along similar lines to its predecessor, the Xperia Z, with a five-inch display and squarish metal frame. However, it is slightly bigger, and heavier, weighing in at 170g.
The phone differentiates itself through its camera - which boasts capability of 20.7MP - and features some fun shooting modes. The camera can take add-on lenses that can be controlled from the phone's five-inch screen. It also comes with a dedicated camera shutter button.
Under the hood, the Xperia Z1 has a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, and has 2GB of RAM and up to 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded to 64GB.
As with the Xperia Z, the phone is waterproof and has a headphone socket that keeps the water out minus an annoying flap. Similarly, the charging socket has no flap.
It comes in three colours - purple, black and white - and will be available "any day now", according to a Sony spokesperson.
