Sony recalls Vaio power bricks
Sony is recalling some power adapters sold with its Vaio line of notebooks, according to The Inquirer.
The Japanese consumer electronics company decided to recall the power bricks after getting four reports of punters receiving electrical shocks from faulty adapters.
The problem appears to be faulty insulation in the adapters that lets current escape from the power supplies.
New gear from Lenovo
Lenovo has unveiled a new line of computers that all run the new Windows 7 operating system, reports DailyTech.
The machines slot into Lenovo's line of IdeaPad laptops and IdeaCenter desktop systems.
The line includes the U150, U550, and Y550P IdeaPads, and the B500, K300, and H230 IdeaCenter machines.
Acer intros free upgrade initiative
Acer has unveiled a free upgrade initiative on purchases of its Vista Home Premium Models, states CIOL.
The free upgrade is available for its entire portfolio of brands spanning from Acer, Gateway to eMachines.
This undertaking was a follow up to the worldwide release of Windows 7 OS by Microsoft, and will provide customers with an option to upgrade existing models on Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Premium at zero cost.
