South African partner appointed as chairman to HP EMEA Partner Advisory Board

Johannesburg, 31 Mar 2005

HP has announced the appointment of local partner Louis Steyn from Bromide Investments as Chairman to the company`s Europe Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) Small and Medium Business (SMB) Partner Advisory Board. Steyn was nominated and appointed during the March 2005 meeting of the board in Paris, France. An active member of the EMEA SMB Partner Advisory Board since it`s inception in March 2004, Steyn has played a leading role in developing the new constitution and structure for the advisory boards based on partner feedback.

"I`m looking forward to working with SMB partners and the HP SPO management team across the EMEA region in rolling out the advisory board structures and presenting partners with a solid mechanism for providing operational and strategic input to senior HP management," says Louis Steyn, sales director at Bromide Investments. "

"We are very pleased with Louis` appointment as Chairman of the SMB Partner Advisory Board at an EMEA level and believe it bodes well for our South African partners," says Thierry Boulanger, Solutions Partner Organisation (SPO) manager at HP South Africa. "Our partners are a natural extension of HP, and it is only by working together that we can offer customers the added value they need."

Partners are represented at an EMEA level on three advisory boards; Corporate and Enterprise Advisory Board, SMB Advisory Board and an Advisory Board for Logistic Service Partners (LSPs) and Channel Development Partners (CDP`s). HP celebrates 25-years of channel partnership across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in 2005.
