Bluegrass Digital was appointed by Names & Faces to rebuild its new mobile application using the latest mobile development technology -React, React Native and Redux. Being one of the first commercial projects of its kind in South Africa, React Native provided it with the benefit of a single cross-platform JavaScript codebase while keeping the performance of a native app.
React and React Native is Facebook's newly released open-source framework which performs on par with any traditional native built app and has only come out of Beta late last year.
Key features of the Name and Faces app include the single codebase for lower ongoing cost of ownership, integration with REST API cloud database, filtering tools and powerful search functionality which helps organisations build fast directories of their teams.
The app also supports multiple user accounts and groups, categorises profiles, and includes favourites and note keeping functionality. The mobile app incorporates an encryption layer for added data security.
