Soyo`s new Slimline notebook captures the millennium mood

Johannesburg, 21 Feb 2000

`Slimmer and lighter` is the technology message from the marketplace for the new millennium, and the innovative new Soyo PW-930 notebook looks well positioned to more than meet the market`s expectations.

The Soyo range - from Taiwan - is now available in South Africa from Note- IT Technology Distributors - a member of the Accfinity group which also markets Accfin .

What makes the Soyo PW-930 unique is its micro A5 size and 1,4 kg ultra light weight. It comes standard with an onboard 56k Fax/modem, allowing uncomplicated connection. The PW-930 - available from the Intel Pentium II 333 Celeron model up to the Pentium II 400 MHz - easily competes with much larger laptops in the power stakes, and has an extended battery life of 5 hours compared to the conventional one-hour useful life.

Dynamite comes in small packages, and that seems an adequate description for the PW-930. Despite its mini-size, it is extremely powerful with up to 8 GB hard drive and 160 MB of RAM. The screen is also much larger than comparable mini laptops with a ten-inch 1026 x 768 (XGA) full colour, film transistor screen as opposed to the conventional seven-inch screen.

The PW-930 not only boasts good looks but outshines the `popular models` including Dell, IBM and Micron in terms of power, price and overall value. The Soyo PW-930 is the wave of the future for professional users and is very reasonably priced - from the Celeron 333 at R11 900 (plus Vat), to the top-of-the-range Pentium II 400 at R14 900 (plus Vat). Soyo`s first PW-930 model was released in South Africa only last month, and orders are flooding in for deliveries in the New Year.

"We believe the Soyo PW-930 is the perfect notebook for all professional needs, and we expect the market for the Soyo range to take off in the New Year,"
