Space Age Technologies has been named Finalist in a full five categories for this year's Microsoft Partner Awards. Five is the second highest number of Finalist nominations this year - only one other company managed the finalist stage in more categories.
Every year, the hotly contested Microsoft Partner Awards sees the leading companies in the IT industry compete for recognition in one or more of the 31 award categories. This year, Space Age Technologies pulled out all the stops.

The award categories for which Space Age is a Finalist reflect very closely their core business - both in service offering and in target market. The Stellenbosch-based company provides leading services and solutions to the small and medium business market in the Cape Town region. The three technology-focused award categories in which they are represented are Networking Infrastructure, Server Platform and Virtualisation Partner of the Year, while the two business-focused award categories are Regional and Small Business Specialist Partner of the Year.
“This spread highlights very well our company's focus areas, of leading edge technology, solutions and services, as well as the SME market in which we have chosen to specialise,” comments Geschke.
The company has built a comprehensive service offering which appeals to both business leaders and to the IT department in the small to medium market. Adoption of the latest technology has always been a strong point for Space Age. As an example, the company's solutions have incorporated Microsoft's virtualisation since the days of Microsoft's Virtual Server, and now Hyper-V forms an important component in most of their solutions. When Microsoft launched their Virtualisation Competency last year, Space Age was the first SME focused partner in South Africa to be certified for the competency.

Microsoft software forms an integral part of the solutions they provide. There has been a strong relationship with Microsoft for several years and they have the distinction of having featured as finalist, or winner, in the annual partner awards each year since 2004.
The winners in the various categories will be announced on Thursday, 2 September 2010, at a gala ceremony in Sun City.
