Spain`s third largest savings bank, Caixa Catalunya, has standardised on business service management (BSM) as part of efforts to align its IT department with its business strategy.
The bank has deployed database management, batch scheduling management and monitoring management solutions from BMC Software.
"Through BSM, the bank has been able to greatly improve the quality of service it provides to its customers because it enables fast identification of problems across the IT infrastructure and proactive monitoring of systems," says Luis Marcos, IT director, Caixa Catalunya.
Marcos says BSM means the bank has complete control over the processes that impact the business, including the branch network, offices and ATMs. "By supporting best practices, BSM optimises our infrastructure performance and availability," he says.
