Speedy new workgroup printers from Kyocera Mita at an affordable price

Johannesburg, 07 May 2004

For organisations concerned about the total cost of ownership (TCO) of their document management solutions, Kyocera Mita South Africa (KMSA) has launched three powerful black and white workgroup printers, with print speeds from 28 to 33ppm.

The compact Kyocera FS-1920, FS-3820N and FS-3830N models produce high-quality, 1 200dpi prints at the lowest cost per page in their respective classes. Featuring outstanding paper handling capabilities in standard configuration, the new Kyocera printer trio can be enhanced through a variety of optional extensions enabling high-speed duplex printing and full eMPS (enhanced Multiple Printing System) functions.

"While the FS-1920 is designed for demanding single users or smaller work teams, the FS-3820N and FS-3830N effectively raise the productivity of mid- to large-size workgroups," comments Augustina Jardim, product manager, Kyocera Mita South Africa.

Powerful controllers for faster printing

Driven by fast Power PC controllers with up to 300MHz processing speed, the new printer models supports the strong performance of their print engines. The standard 96MB of memory in the FS-3830N gives easy access to the eMPS functions Proof & Hold and Private print.

Managing documents

The optional MicroDrive enables full eMPS functions. They include job storage that allows the instant re-print of jobs archived on the printer, as well as other job management functions. Electronic sorting collates multiple sets of a single print job and prints all pages in the correct sequence. The storage of electronic forms adds convenience and saves the cost of maintaining supplies of pre-printed forms.

Multiple connections

The FS-3820N and FS-3830N feature built-in Ethernet connectivity as standard and all three new printers come with USB 2.0 and High-Speed Parallel (IEEE 1284) interfaces. The printers offer a wide variety of network options including 10/100 BaseT Ethernet, Token Ring, Fibre Optic and Wireless LAN. Kyocera`s powerful controller language emulates PCL5e, PCL6 as well as PostScript3 (KPDL3) and PDF direct printing. The new printer models support Windows platforms, MAC OS X and Linux/Unix.
