JSE-listed Spescom Limited today announced that with immediate effect, Keith Stentiford has been appointed interim chief executive officer (CEO) of its US operation, Spescom Software Inc.
Stentiford joined the company earlier this year as vice-president, business development. He replaces Carl Mostert, who has resigned to pursue personal interests.
According to Spescom group CEO, Tony Farah, Stentiford's appointment was prompted by his extensive experience in the development of customer relations in large corporate concerns.
Farah paid tribute to Mostert's contribution to the Spescom group.
"During his 23 year tenure, Carl Mostert has played a highly significant role in the growth and development of Spescom into the global enterprise that we have now become. We take this opportunity to wish him success in his future endeavours," says Farah.
Stentiford comes to Spescom from Siemens where he held various senior positions for over 28 years. For the past 10 years he has been based in Siemens USA as vice-president.
"We feel the appointment of Keith Stentiford is a good strategic move. We anticipate that his mix of skills and experience, particularly with respect to the vertical markets so critical to Spescom Software's growth objectives, will prove invaluable to the company," says Farah.
He notes that Stentiford has been well known to Spescom for over 10 years.
"Keith was introduced to us via Spescom's long-standing special relationship with Siemens. He was responsible for the Siemens and Spescom joint venture agreement concluded in the early 1990s. This deal resulted in the successful launch and deployment of Spescom's proprietary pre-payment metering technology in 44 nations around the globe," says Farah.
Stentiford says his decision to join Spescom Software was motivated by the high standard of the technology development augmented by the calibre of its people.
"I believe that intelligent information management is the next bottom line driver for major corporations. Process enhancement initiatives have mostly exhausted the traditional avenues of workflow optimisation. I believe that in the future, enterprises will concentrate on information and data management as the next wave of improvement in business operations. My objective is to position Spescom's software to avail of these opportunities. I look forward to the challenge of growing the company and enabling it to realise its full potential," Stentiford concludes.
