Spescom Software Inc, the US operation of JSE-listed Spescom Limited, has concluded a $300 000 deal with the City of Lancaster, California for its eB content management software.
Located in Southern California, the City of Lancaster will utilise the eB solution for its City Clerk, Building and Safety departments.
eB will initially be implemented in the Public Works Department as the first phase of an enterprise plan to deploy eB in all departments in the city's government. The Public Works Department includes the Engineering, Building & Safety, Maintenance and Transportation divisions.
Robert Neal, City of Lancaster Building and Safety Official, commented: "After a comprehensive evaluation, the Spescom eB solution demonstrated that it meets our business requirements and establishes a platform that supports the information vision for Lancaster, which includes seamless integration with core business applications such as Hansen, ESRI's GIS and Microsoft products. The implementation of a proven and robust product such as eB is an essential building block in meeting the city's vision to continually increase the level of service to the Lancaster community."
Spescom Software's CEO, Keith Stentiford, added: "This new contract demonstrates that eB can meet the needs of a diversified range of organisations. We are looking forward to working with the City of Lancaster and adding them to the growing list of local government customers that are using eB to unify multiple systems within their operations."
eB will enable the Building & Safety permitting process to become a paperless function. The benefits to the City Clerk's office include enhanced operational efficiencies as city users and the general public will be able to access relevant and accurate information more quickly than currently possible, improving productivity and customer service.
