Spescom DataVoice (Pty) Ltd., has announced the release of the Libra Recorder - aimed at changing the way in which both local and international small and medium enterprises (SMEs) view telephony recording.
Spescom DataVoice is the voice transaction management operation of JSE-listed multinational, Spescom Limited.
According to Sakkie Nel, Spescom DataVoice head of product development, the new product is the result of long-term research and development to produce a cost-effective, full-featured recorder built on a standard Windows platform.
"This is an exciting development for the SME market because it offers an affordable, feature-rich solution that is installed with ease," says Nel.
The new Libra Recorder covers a wide spectrum of telephony inputs, including standard analogue extensions, PBX specific (proprietary) digital extensions, ISDN Basic Rate extensions and trunks, E1/T1 trunks and Cisco AVVID IP telephony. The inputs can also be mixed and matched in a single platform scenario, as required.
Spescom DataVoice will market the product in the southern African region. International branding and marketing will be effected via leading international distributors including global recording giant, Dictaphone.
Albert Bossart, GM of Dictaphone Europe, says the development of this product is a direct result of market demand.
"European SMEs are clamouring for feature-rich recording products at an affordable price. They are looking for a single platform enabling them to safely record and store conversations originating from different types of call sources. This is exactly what the DataVoice Libra Recorder provides. The product is flexible and scaleable, with no special training required for operation."
Bossart notes that Dictaphone expects this product to make a considerable impact on the European SME market.
