Spescom partners with GijimaAst to strengthen local offering

Midrand, 07 Jan 2010

Spescom DataVoice, a local developer of risk mitigation and workforce optimisation solutions, has signed a strategic partnership agreement with GijimaAst, a South African ICT company.

With this agreement, GijimaAst becomes one of Spescom DataVoice`s channel partners and has access to the full range of Spescom DataVoice products, including proprietary solutions that record, manage, recreate and analyse voice transactions and workforce optimisation. These solutions complement GijimaAst`s own proprietary solutions to provide a comprehensive ICT solutions portfolio.

"We will leverage GijimaAst`s strength and expertise to access new markets, such as the public sector and mining," says Kgabo Badimo, MD of Spescom DataVoice. "Being a local company, GijimaAst has an excellent understanding of local conditions and can develop and tailor flexible solutions that are specifically suited to the South African market, accompanied by high levels of locally available support, something which is of particular importance in government."

For GijimaAst the partnership gives them access to a range of locally developed and award-winning business communication solutions that have enjoyed local and international success. Spescom DataVoice`s products and services, including the voice recording portfolio, provide legally compliant solutions that are tailored to support business processes and meet security needs, improving client interactions and mitigating the risk associated with communications, such as dispute resolution.

Spescom DataVoice`s focus on risk mitigation and workforce optimisation fits perfectly into the GijimaAst fold. For the public sector the risk mitigation aspect is particularly important, as the influx of laws and regulations such as the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication-Related Information Act (RICA) have made it more important than ever to manage risk and embrace good corporate governance. With even more new regulations due to come into effect in 2010, including the Consumer Protection Act and King III, risk mitigation will become a core focus for the public sector.

End-users will have access to local support and world-class solutions tailored for the local market, which means that these solutions are highly flexible and can be adapted to suit the customer`s environment quickly and easily.

"GijimaAst and Spescom DataVoice have a lot of synergies and share a similar work ethic and ethos, and both have good understanding of the local environment," ends Badimo. "We have a good working relationship with each other on all levels. We believe this partnership will be highly successful and beneficial for both parties."
