Spescom's US operation, Spescom Software Inc. has announced the sale of a corporate licence for its eB software suite to Newcastle City Council in the UK.
This contract is a result of the close relationship Spescom has established with CACI International, a leading provider of IT solutions, to address the needs of local government and related markets in the UK.
Newcastle is the largest city in the North East of England and will utilise eB as a common core platform for managing documents across multiple departmental boundaries. Initially, eB will be deployed in the Revenues (Council Tax and National Domestic Rates), Benefits (Council Tax and Housing) and Planning Applications areas. Following deployment in these areas, the roll-out and integration will be extended to include the rest of Planning plus into Social Care in a number of projects that will link around 1,000 users with each other, and with other external government agencies and Non Government Organisations.
