Spescom Software, Inc, the US operation of JSE-listed multi-national, Spescom Limited, has announced the formation of an alliance with Singularity - a leading provider of process-centric solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Singularity's ActiveWorkflow platform will be incorporated under licence as the eB Workflow component of the Spescom eB product set.
eB Workflow allows non-technical staff and business analysts to automate business processes by drawing the process as a flowchart. Once a process and its participants have been defined, the workflow server can then run that particular process, passing work items to the users involved. Most processes are integrated with additional line of business applications such as call centre, document management and other legacy systems.
Spescom expects the addition of eB Workflow to enhance sales because it provides a powerful business process management (BPM) tool to Spescom customers in addition to the document, configuration and records management modules already offered as part of the eB platform. Moreover, existing customers could benefit from using it in concert with their existing Spescom solutions.
Singularity sees the licensing agreement as an opportunity to add new world-class customers to a list that includes Unisys and TD Waterhouse, among others. Not only does the alliance give it additional exposure to Spescom's US-based business and government customers, but it also provides Singularity with an introduction to Spescom's UK customers such as Network Rail, WHSmith, Leicester City Council, etc.
Carl Mostert, CEO of Spescom Software, said: "We are delighted that through our partnership with Singularity we can now offer our customers award-winning business process management and workflow capability. Expanding the Spescom eB integrated product set with this new eB Workflow component enables us to provide a more complete solution to our customers."
Padraig Canavan, Managing Director of Singularity, stated: "We welcome Spescom to our portfolio of global partners and look forward through this alliance to increasing the reach of our award-winning business process and workflow technologies."
