SPI opens office in Eastern Cape

Johannesburg, 04 Oct 2010

SPI, the African distributor for utility software products and services to the open systems segment of the IT industry, today announced that it had opened an Eastern Cape office based in Port Elizabeth.

“We are delighted that we have been able to open an office to serve the Eastern Cape, when so many other organisations are cutting back their presence in this part of the country,” commented Chris Anderson, Managing Director of SPI. “I am also pleased to announced that the office will be run by Anthony Little, who has relocated from Cape Town to undertake this new venture.

“Anthony has had a successful career in the IT industry and has been with SPI for the last few years, thus, from a continuity viewpoint, having someone like Anthony running this new initiative is important,” continued Anderson. “He is already well known in the province from a business perspective and, in many cases, on a personal basis as well, since earlier this year he represented one of South Africa's national angling teams at a contest in Brazil.

“We have a solid base of customers in the Eastern Cape covering both the public and private sectors, and I know they will be positive about SPI now having a local presence,” concluded Anderson.

SPI's base in the Eastern Cape includes Amatola District Council, Bridgestone, Chris Hani District Municipality, Sheltam Ltd, University of Fort Hare and Walter Sisulu University.
