Pierre Spies has been named the new CEO of Pinnacle Africa.
According to Arnold Fourie, CEO of Pinnacle Technology Holdings, Spies will report directly to group head of distribution, Henry Ferreira.
Spies is currently on a one-year consultancy contract at MB Technologies. He will take over from current Pinnacle Africa CEO Louis Fourie in June 2014. Fourie has been named group operations director.
"We are really excited about Pierre joining Pinnacle Africa," says Pinnacle Africa MD Tim Humphreys-Davies. "He has a wealth of experience and a proven track record in distribution, which will help us to grow the business and execute our future strategies. He is a huge asset to the group and brings with him a great deal of value to the business."
Spies obtained his BCom accounting degree in 1989 from the University of Johannesburg, and in 1987 joined Coopers and Lybrandt, an accounting firm, in order to complete his articles.
He joined Tarsus in 1992 as an accountant, and became CEO in 2007. He served on the MB Technologies Group board as an executive director from 2009.
Spies is excited to join the Pinnacle team. "I am really looking forward to the new challenge presented to me at Pinnacle Africa. I'm relishing the prospect of working with a formidable team that has built up a fantastic track record over the last five years."
