The award was presented to SPL due to the turn around achieved in the South African market. Gary Allemann, senior consultant at SPL, believes SPL`s desire to partner with their customers and provide total solutions was the driving force in this.
"The previous distributor treated the Intersolv solutions as commodity software," said Allemann. "We understand that for our software tools to succeed they must be implemented according to customers requirements, and we have an obligation to assist our customers in this regard. For this reason, we tripled our services division over the last year."
With a user base of approximately 4 500 locally, Intersolv, provider of applications enablement technology and services, offers cross-industry solutions. According to Janet Wellington of SPL: "The solutions operate in any environment where attention to detail in the development lifecycle is necessary and stringent quality levels must be met. They enable team based development by providing an automated safety net to reduce the risk of errors and improve productivity".
SPL also received support person of the year award, won by consultant Nayan Shiba. "We are more proud of this award than of the other," says Wellington, "as it validates our desire to provide our customers with excellent service on all fronts."
Wellington maintains the Intersolv awards are significant as they reinforce the credibility of SPL as the single local source for best-in-class solutions, focusing on the growing need to accelerate the development, delivery and integration of applications on an enterprise scale in today`s distributed computing environment.
