SPS-Peripherals has appointed Blue Sky Networks as one of its elite Ascend Value Integrated Partners - known as VIPs. "We`re thrilled to have Blue Sky on board," said SPS sales executive Mark van der Linde. "Strategic partnerships are extremely important and allow us to deliver, support and maintain working solutions in the most effective manner. This relationship represents a direct line of support, allowing faster response times, particularly in critical circumstances," he said. Most top 100 companies in South Africa use Ascend technology, whether it is ISDN, Async or IP based. Support, Van der Linde says, is a critical and strategic cornerstone of SPS` business, which has seen the recent installation of all modes of Telkom connectivity (ISDN, Diginet, X.25, POTS) and dual copies of all Operating Systems. This, he said, allows SPS to simulate specific customer environments thus ensuring that all signed-off designs will be functional. Key Blue Sky staff have completed a stringent Competency-Based Training programme, which ensures that competence of both sales and technical staff is gained before VIP status is issued. "In a traditional training environment the course material tends to be delivered and a certificate issued almost as a matter of procedure. That, in our view, doesn`t cut it, so we`ve set the bar particularly high to guarantee that our customer base benefits from a `best-of-the-best` level of expertise. Blue Sky`s people not only reached the bar - they cleared it very well indeed," he concluded.
