Square One Power Solutions, the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) specialist in the JSE-listed ICT company Square One Solutions Group, has achieved gold certification as a channel partner of international UPS manufacturer American Power Conversion (APC) in southern Africa.
APC recently redesigned its channel programme to include new personal certification training, and both individuals and companies can now progress through a series of courses designed to assist in selling, designing and installing APC's InfraStruXure (ISX) solution, an integrated architecture for data centres.
Square One Power Solutions has been involved in a number of ISX solutions, the most prominent being the Cue Incident data centre supporting a public surveillance system that has resulted in a significant decline in crime levels in Pretoria's city centre. Critical to the ongoing operation of the surveillance system, the overall ISX solution is rated for 80kW and was designed, supplied and installed by Square One Power.
The APC channel programme covers three levels -- APC authorised partner, APC Silver certified partner and APC Gold certified partner. Silver certified partners are competent to design ISX systems rated at up to 20 kW and Gold certified partners up to 80kW.
Square One Power Solutions managing director Neil Burnard said the company had several years been the only High Power Partner of APC in SA and was delighted to be one of the first to achieve the new Gold Certification. "We are also actively taking advantage of the excellent ongoing ISX-related training services that APC is implementing as part of its revised channel partner programme."
The gold certification affirms that Square One Power Solutions and its staff have achieved the required high levels of competency and technical standards in the design and installation of ISX data centre solutions.
