The Business Solutions division of JSE-listed ICT company Square One Solutions Group, has been appointed value-added reseller for Aruba Wireless Networks, the international manufacturer of high-performance centralised wireless networks and security systems.
Philip Olejnik, Services Manager at Square One Solutions, says Aruba's products enable large corporations and service providers to simplify the deployment and lower the costs of operating large-scale 802.11 infrastructures.
"These savings are achieved through a centralised switching system specifically built for the operation of wireless LANs. The Aruba systems solve critical problems such as securing all aspects of a wireless network, automating deployment and optimising the performance."
Olejnik adds that Aruba has recently achieved official certification from the International WiFi Alliance that its products and systems meet the newest 802.11i standard. He also believes the "thin AP" (access point) approach and centralised switching architecture pioneered by Aruba provides true investment protection for users.
"Implementing 802.11 enterprise networks is a huge and highly complex task for large corporations and there are concerns about cost, security and operational issues. If a user randomly deploys an access point, the entire corporate network is at risk. Aruba's focus has been on developing products such as the WiFi switching system that overcome these concerns and bring a structured, secure approach to wireless networking."
Aruba is also the first WLAN switch vendor to obtain ICSA Labs certification for its mobile firewall solution that performs comprehensive network access admission control.
