Staffware, a leader in Workflow/Business Process Management (BPM), is set to launch its OSS Process Framework, a framework for systems integration and BPM geared for the telecommunication industry at the TeleManagement World conference in Nice this month.
"Our OSS process framework addresses all business components including order management and provisioning processes for both fixed-line and mobile operators and customer care and billing," says Mark Ehmke, managing director of Staffware SA. "By linking these systems together, Staffware acts as the infrastructure backbone, integrating systems, data and information with end-users."
"Telco organisations therefore benefit from reduced operating costs, lower operational and financial risk, enhanced customer satisfaction, more accurate management information and compliance to current regulations," he says.
According to Ehmke, this development is pertinent to the South African market as the telecommunication industry gears up for the second network operator. "Services are being scrutinised and redefined, creating a competitive-edge in order to maintain and grow existing business," he explains.
Ehmke adds that by taking these business components, operators should achieve an estimated potential saving of 50% to 80% of their development time, resulting in significant cost savings both in the initial development phase and for subsequent revisions.
The Staffware OSS Process Framework can be adapted to suit the specific needs of operators, globally.
"Staffware is recognised as a leader in business process management within telecom operators, with Ipsaris, Optus, KPN, Telefonica, Ericsson UK and RSL Com as some of our customers," continues Ehmke.
"Staffware has been working with the TeleManagement Forum, a global organisation where service providers and suppliers are working together to develop standards and frameworks for systems integration and business process management, in order to develop a process framework which is compliant with the recommended NGOSS standard. The Staffware framework will provide process driven customer responsive applications for operators."
