Staffware was selected by CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) as a key component to deliver a prestigious contract with ipsaris Easynet, the fibre optic network bandwidth provider. CSC was commissioned to provide a total end-to-end business solution across the entire enterprise at ipsaris Easynet. As the prime systems integrator, CSC selected Staffware as the only business process management vendor meeting all of the selection criteria.
Within the solution, Staffware will provide Easynet end-to-end process automation for a wide range of processes. These include Order Management, Service Provisioning, Network Management, New Product/Service Introduction, Accounts Payable, Human Resources and Business Planning.
CSC developed the system encompassing some 14 commercial software packages (COTS) using its e3 architecture, in a period of only seven months. Development time was greatly accelerated by using the Staffware process engine to provide process integration between the various software packages.
Staffware is used to monitor all the complex links to Easynet`s billing, customer records, marketing, front office support, service implementation, workforce management, network resource and modification. In so doing, Staffware ensures that all parts of the complex business processes within ipsaris Easynet are consistent, that every step is monitored, and that delays or problems can be identified before the customer is aware of them.
Mark Ehmke, managing director of Staffware SA, says: "In order to proactively manage and control the processes, from order handling and provisioning through to actual fulfilment, there is an inherent need for systems to integrate and communicate across functional and organisational boundaries. Business process automation provides a common system for moving information throughout the Easynet business enterprise. Staffware enables these flows to be automated and synchronised, making it possible for the whole supply chain, from customer order, to service provider and back to the customer, to operate in step."
Paul Stow, IT and Systems Director for Easynet, says: "Staffware has to a large extent, been the glue that binds our systems together and has allowed us to be, if not the first, then one of the first, deployments of New Generation Operations Systems and Software NGOSS, in the Telecoms industry. Indeed, the TeleManagement Forum (TMF) has recently referenced ipsaris Easynet as the first known implementation anywhere in the world."
Mike Anderson, Workflow Architect at CSC, says: "A number of the packages deployed at ipsaris Easynet already have a degree of workflow capability within them. However, Staffware operates independently of specific line-of-business applications, therefore providing true end-to-end process automation. Staffware`s integration with BEA`s EAI product set is at the core of the e3 architecture."
As a result of incorporating Staffware within the solution, ipsaris Easynet has the business agility to respond to new opportunities and changing conditions within the telecoms industry.
