Staffware, Reserve Bank of Malawi win GIGA Gold Award for Workflow Excellence

Johannesburg, 26 Mar 2002

Staffware, a leader in Business Process Management (BPM), together with the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) received a Gold Award for GIGA Global Excellence in Workflow, recently presented at the Association for Information and Image Management International (AIIM) 2002 Conference.

The award for excellence in workflow implementations recognised RBM`s innovative implementation of Staffware`s solution to meet its strategic business objectives. RBM acts as an agent of the Malawi Government in the issuing of Treasury bills, which were handled manually prior to the Staffware implementation. After the improvements were introduced, settlement was reduced from six to two days.

Mark Ehmke, managing director of Staffware SA, commented: "RBM selected and implemented Staffware`s Business Process Management (BPM) solution to transform the time-consuming and laborious bidding process into a fully automated system, thereby reducing the time taken to receive, validate, accept and issue the securities.

"This is the second year in a row that Staffware SA has received a GIGA award, with the first awarded in 2001 for the Telkom Properties workflow implementation."

Ehmke continues: "This achievement demonstrates our commitment to furthering development within the international workflow and Business Process Management arena, ensuring our solutions can meet clients` requirements and more importantly, reflect their business benefits."

The annual awards are co-hosted with the AIIM conference and expo and are sponsored by the Workflow Management Coalition, Giga Information Group and the Workflow And Reengineering International Association.
