As part of its social responsibility programme, ITWeb will host its second Technology Golf Challenge at the Pecanwood course near Magaliesberg on 8 March.
"Unlike other golf days, this one isn`t limited to a specific company`s customer base, it will open doors to all IT professionals, from both the vendor and business communities," says ITWeb CEO Jovan Regasek.
All profits from the golf day`s sponsors and the players` entry fees will be donated to Kids Haven, a home for abandoned children.
"Kids Haven was chosen because of the involvement ITWeb had with the organisation early this year," says ITWeb events director Angela Wressell. "That organisation has proved to be a home and food provider to many abandoned kids in SA."
"This year`s golf challenge held at Dainfern raised R53 700 for charity and the success behind the event was because ITWeb played a big role as a catalyst, using the golf day as a mobilisation place for the IT industry," says Regasek. "The golf day went beyond our expectations. The contributions made brought about a meaningful contribution to the previous beneficiary, Ethembeni Children`s Home."
The entry fee for each four-ball includes a golf pack, two golf carts per four-ball, on-course refreshments, lunch at the halfway house, drinks after the game at the bar, a buffet dinner with a selection of wines, and entertainment.
Four-balls finishing in the top 12 positions will win prizes, as well as prizes for closest to pin, longest drive and longest putt.
Sponsors who have already confirmed their support include Software Futures, Tiscali, DataPro, and e-Secure.
