StarBase Corp, the provider of collaboration products for the creation and management of integrated e-business code and content, has signed a cooperative marketing and technical integration agreement with Bluestone Software, a leader in business-to-Web and wireless technologies.
The agreement has resulted in a technology integration that is expected to speed the creation of and provide an increased level of management over dynamic Web content and e-business applications.
StarBase`s products are distributed locally by MIP Holdings.
The StarBase-Bluestone agreement is in addition to the recent enterprise implementation of StarTeam as the internal software configuration and development management standard for Bluestone. The Bluestone development team, along with outside consultant groups, will deploy StarTeam to manage Web-based application development efforts.
The integration between Bluestone`s comprehensive J2EE- and XML-based Total-e-Business platform with StarTeam, developed in conjunction with Starbase Professional Services, will be made available to the joint customers of both companies.
"Starbase solutions, proven in our own development environment, enhance the overall capabilities of Total-e-Business, by delivering an integrated code and content management solution, which we consider essential to the success of eBusiness," says Al Smith, VP of development at Bluestone.
The integration of StarTeam with Bluestone`s Total-e-Business will allow businesses to collaborate on the creation, editing, versioning and management of the source code and dynamic Web content for e-business applications. This will result in the strengthening of Web development teams` ability to create and manage increasingly complex e-business initiatives, based up an enterprise-level digital asset repository, combined with integrated code and content management, personalisation and e-business components for a complete e-business solution.
"Starbase`s teaming with Bluestone provides a complete digital asset management solution for corporate e-business enterprises which need a scalable, Internet-based environment," says Richard Firth, chairman of MIP Holdings. "This alliance will create effective solutions for managing transactions across the entire Web architecture. It will enable geographically remote teams to collaborate in the production and management of websites, e-commerce and business-critical applications."
Based on Sun Microsystems` J2EE (Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition) specification and using XML for internal communication and external integration services, Bluestone`s Total-e-Business offers a scalable, fault-tolerant Internet operating environment for organisations that demand maximum performance from their Web-enabled e-business solutions.
