StarLink, the region's trusted security-specialised 'true' value-added distributor (VAD), has announced it has expanded its distribution agreement with ForeScout Technologies, a pioneer in agentless cyber security, to cover the Africa region.
As the largest and fastest growing IT security distributor in the Middle East, with strong on-the-ground presence across the region, StarLink will sell ForeScout's technology through its extensive network of channel partners. Currently, StarLink has regional distribution rights with the vendor in the Middle East.
The attack surface is growing due to the rapidly increasing number of traditional and [IOT] devices connecting to the corporate network and to critical infrastructure. ForeScout's technology provides businesses and governments with the ability to instantaneously see both traditional and IOT devices when they connect to a network, control device access based on security posture and policy, and orchestrate system-wide response.
Hamed Diab, Regional Director - METCA, ForeScout, commented: "We are seeing a surge of bring your own devices (BYOD) and IOT strategies in enterprises and critical infrastructure, representing a fundamental shift in the way CIOs and CISOs operate and secure their environment. You cannot secure what you cannot see, and organisations need to be able to identify devices the instant they connect to a network. StarLink will play a fundamental role in our MEA strategy, helping businesses and governments minimise security risks and make informed decisions.
Jacques Slabber, Business Development, South Africa at StarLink, added: "The collaboration with ForeScout helps us further deliver excellent security solutions to our partners as its technology integrates out-of-the-box with many existing security and technology vendors in our portfolio. ForeScout will be positioned in the Threat Protection unit of the StarLink Solutions Lifecycle."
