Digital Solutions Group and The WinWin Group have formed a joint venture, Employee Relationship Marketing Solutions (ERMS), a human resource (HR) relationship marketing and technology innovation company.
The company says it focuses on total employee experience by providing “new age” tools and solutions, assisting in the primary delivery of human resources through social media.
Dr Annelie Gildenhuys, MD of ERMS, says the new offering “aims to provide on-demand technology and infrastructure, helping organisations avoid the traditional costs of licensed software and IT infrastructure with on-demand software-as-a-service, enhancing business performance.” She adds that all this is done through social networking in the workplace.
“Our focus is on creating an employee-centric culture and experience by providing the right tools and solutions.”
According to Gildenhuys, ERMS offers a payroll deduction for a multitude of products and services through a digital mall (e-shopping platform). “The platform offers employees discounts on items like branded airtime, giving back to employees and the company.”
Online tools
She adds that ERMS provides easy access to products and services through various systems, including Web portals, integrated digital solutions, learning and development systems, online assessments, employee benefit and reward programmes, and enterprise social software.
“With the changing communications environment through new technologies like blogs, social networks, message boards, podcasts, wikis and vlogs [video blogs], and mobile media available, connecting with employees who expect employers to be 'tech savvy', can be greatly enhanced,” she says.
Gildenhuys believes the company's approach is very different from the methods applied to HR during the early part of the decade, where the focus of companies was on the standardisation of HR practices alongside the implementation of enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management systems.
“Today, understanding employees is as important as understanding your customers. In fact, your employees are your first customers and your strongest brand ambassadors,” says Gildenhuys.
