Statasys delivers HP 3D printers

Stratasys has delivered the first shipments of HP-branded 3D printers, writes MarketWatch.

The 3D printer systems were co-developed by the two companies as part of a global agreement.

"The agreement to develop and a product to HP's specification is a milestone for us," says Stratasys CEO Scott Crump. "Today, we're taking a big step in realising the agreement's potential by demonstrating we can deliver."

EFI Fiery powers Minolta press

Konica Minolta and EFI unveiled that the EFI Fiery IC-306 server technology is powering the Konica Minolta BizHub Press C8000, reports What They Think.

"We are providing customers in demanding production environments with the latest productivity-boosting features to reduce job handling time and waste, new colour control capabilities for best-in-class colour for the first and every page, and job management tools to ensure operational efficiency," says John Jenze, vice-president of Fiery marketing, EFI.

The printer is advertised to meet the needs of commercial print, print for pay and in-plant markets.

Earth Rangers, Lexmark go green

Earth Rangers is working with Lexmark Canada to reduce the number of printing devices for the organisation, says Benzinga.

"Besides its ability to meet our needs technologically, Lexmark's unique approach to printing - in fact, its radical approach as a printing company - blends very well with our mission of reducing our carbon footprint, energy and paper consumption," says John Pepelnak, Earth Ranger's senior manager of development.

The project reduced the number of printing devices at Earth Ranger's headquarters in Woodbridge by 70%, with the company recycling old printers. The organisation says it has also noticed a considerable reduction of its paper consumption.
