Store deploys 3D scanning tech

Cocor Store in Romania has added 3D body scanning and virtual fashion applications from Textile/Clothing Technology to its technology showcase, states Fibre2Fashion.

According to Samual Tulimianu, Cocor's creative director: “We started scanning in early October and everything works great. The body scan fashion avatars look fantastic!”

This is the company's first high-profile retail deployment of its 3D body scanning virtual fashion system in Europe.

Workers at US caf'e chains and fast food outlets will be prompted to up sell products and access uniform national pricing through a new electronic pricing initiative from local point-of-sale software developer, Task Retail, writes Computerworld.

Founder and chief executive, Kym Houden, told Computerworld Australia the business - which grew to 13 staff members as of 2008 - is currently planning expansion to the US and Singapore.

“The company's been going for ten years, and started off with one [team member],” he said. “We now have an office in Atlanta, Georgia, and we will have a presence in Singapore in the next 12 months or so.”

iVend Retail gets UK certification
