Stratasys, HP ink 3D deal
Stratasys has signed a deal with Hewlett-Packard allowing it to begin manufacturing HP-branded 3D printers, says San Jose Business Journal.
Under the terms of the agreement, Stratasys will manufacture the 3D printers, while HP will begin a phased roll-out of the printers in the mechanical design market in selected countries. HP still retains the right to extend the distribution globally.
“We believe the time is right for 3D printing to become mainstream,” says Stratasys chairman and CEO, Scott Crump. He adds that the combination of HP's distribution and Stratasys technology will help achieve a broader use of 3D printers worldwide.
EnVista, Profitability release IMIGIT
EnVista has partnered with Profitability of Hawaii to provide a document imaging solution titled IMIGIT, designed for manufacturing and distribution organisations, reports Earth Times.
The system allows clients to capture and record valuable supply chain data by allowing employees to capture images without printing them on paper. It reduces the paper handling processes by providing an effective way to index, file, and retrieve documents from a centralised source.
EnVista president and CEO, Jim Barnes, says: “Electronic imaging offers the ability to retrieve and revisit information, yet reduce valuable handling time and expenditures associated with printing. IMIGIT enables us to help companies remove document handling waste from the supply chain, supporting green supply chain practices and lean manufacturing.”
