Strategic alliance with Sizwe IT Group to take Epson into corporate South Africa

Johannesburg, 16 Mar 2010

Epson has formed a strategic alliance with the Sizwe IT Group, one of South Africa's leading technology service providers, to strengthen its presence in the South African corporate market.

Sizwe IT Group has been appointed as both an Epson premier corporate reseller and accredited service provider (ASP).

Through the premier reseller agreement, Sizwe IT Group will deliver Epson's full range of business products to a number of large corporates throughout South Africa. As an Epson ASP, Sizwe IT Group brings after-sales technical support directly to its Epson customers, providing face-to-face problem assessment and advice from trained professionals.

Utilising Sizwe IT Group's efficient in-house customer relationship management and logistics platform, these specialists will not only be able to quickly install new products or diagnose problems, but will also be able to conduct speedy onsite product repair or even replacement if the product can't be repaired in a given amount of time. This ensures that customers experience minimal downtime.

“Epson already has an established retail and consumer presence in the South African market, particularly in the photo printing, desktop printing and home entertainment projector sectors,” says Kelvin Reynolds, general manager for Epson Southern Africa.

“However, one of our key objectives for 2010 is to make a concerted push into the corporate sector where we believe that we have a number of products and services specifically suited to small, medium and large enterprises alike.

“To do this,” he says, “we have been looking for a partner that is big and established enough to service the financial services, telecommunications and government sectors - three key verticals for Epson in the coming years with a national footprint and a focus on delivering excellent onsite customer service.”

With its proven track record, focus on these three key sectors and its national service footprint, the Sizwe IT Group was a natural choice and fit for Epson.

Tim Modise, CEO of the Sizwe IT Group, says that one of the reasons that Sizwe IT Group decided to form a strategic alliance with Epson was because of the potential of the brand and its products.

“Epson is one of the industry's best kept secrets, particularly in the business and corporate world,” Modise says, “and there is definitely a gap in the market for one of the country's large value-added IT companies to take this brand into corporate South Africa.

“With Epson's extensive product range and particularly, the company's emphasis on eco-friendliness and after-sales service, we are confident that we can design compelling, energy-saving solutions for our clients - backed by some of the best service professionals in South Africa.”

Reynolds says that Epson is looking forward to working with Sizwe IT Group to help take its warranties and support services to the next level of customer satisfaction.

“We are confident that our partnership with an established and highly professional organisation like Sizwe IT Group will benefit everybody, particularly our existing and future Epson customers,” Reynolds concludes.
