PC-PoS South Africa, the local subsidiary of international point of sale vendor, PC-PoS Inc, has landed a "strategic contract" - valued in excess of R1 million - to supply the duty-free shops at the Mauritius airport with 35 of its DigiPos point of sale units.
PC-PoS SA is currently the largest supplier of e-PoS solutions in SA.
Regan Atkins, business development manager at PC-PoS SA, said two of the airport duty-free shops are located in departures and one in arrivals.
The contract marks the first time that PC-PoS SA has assisted with the installation of an export site. "We are expanding our technical services in a move to provide on-site support directly where required, in support of our partners. So this contract marks a milestone for us."
Commenting further, Atkins said the company provided an end-to-end solution for the client, including the loading of operating systems and application software on each machine, as well as the freighting of the systems to site.
"From a strategic perspective we want to expand the service offerings we provide to our clients, including offering them the option of us managing the on-site installation, as well as the provision of on-site training."
