Stratus unveils Entice 3.0

New release integrates Stratus SINAP as well as inter-services and signalling technology. It provides seamless support for SS7 and SIP-based services in any network, plus new enhanced services.
Maynard, Massachusetts, 01 Nov 2007

Stratus Technologies announced today the release of Entice 3.0, (Emerging Network Telecommunications Infrastructure Control Environment), an extensive update to the company's framework for delivering high-quality, IMS-ready solutions into any network.

Entice 3.0 marks the first version of the product to seamlessly provide direct access to legacy SS7 SCP-based applications like number portability and call screening commonly found in Tier 1 fixed and mobile networks, while at the same time also supplying access to IMS/IMS-ready applications such as enhanced call forwarding, unified messaging and visual voice mail via SIP.

Entice 3.0 capitalises on the synergies of last year's acquisition of Emergent Network Solutions by Stratus.

The new version incorporates Stratus' SINAP (Stratus Integrated Network Applications Platform) and ISSG (Inter-network Services Signalling Gateway) technologies to provide seamless access to SS7 and SIP-based services in fixed, mobile, VOIP and IMS networks, without requiring external conversion equipment, as is typically required by other vendors.

Entice 3.0 builds on previous releases to bring simplicity to converged networks," said Bill Skinner, telco products manager for Stratus Technologies.

"This version is a breakthrough in that it seamlessly links legacy and next-generation networks via a common architecture, and eliminates the need for external media gateways to access services. Version 3.0 also significantly enhances a carrier's ability to integrate its front-office systems for flow-through provisioning. Finally, it integrates its back-office for seamless billing, and applies its own business logic for decisions on routing, authentication and billing."

Enhanced services

In keeping with the industry-wide move toward network convergence, Entice 3.0 builds on previous releases by adding many new SOAP based services that further enhance business-to-business inter-working.

These services allow Entice-based solutions to be seamlessly embedded into a carrier's existing business infrastructure. In addition, Entice 3.0 adds many new enhanced services that allow carriers to differentiate themselves from the competition.

As with previous Entice versions, Entice 3.0 is available on Stratus' continuously-available ftServers in variety of configurations.

Such configurations are scalable from small centralised systems of a few hundred sessions or a few thousand subscribers, to large networks that handle hundreds of thousands of sessions and millions of subscribers, spread over large geographic areas. Entice solutions give telecom carriers and service providers the simplest, most reliable, most scalable, most flexible, and most complete platform for delivering the services their customers demand.
