Electronic messaging specialist, Striata, a leading software developer and service provider, has acquired electronic communication specialist eMessageX in a deal valued at close to R3 million. eMessageX provides consulting services and solutions in the digital arena.
The acquisition, effective 1 March, is in line with Striata's vision to continuously develop and deliver innovative electronic communications. Striata purchased the company from the Systems Group.
Commenting on the acquisition, Michael Wright, CEO of Striata, says, "The acquisition of eMessageX further strengthens our existing offering. We believe the addition of eMessageX, with its focus on e-marketing, is a good strategic fit and will strongly support our drive to pursue growth in the electronic communications market. The combined skills of Striata and eMessageX translate into a powerful offering to the market."
Striata is already the dominant provider of electronic billing and marketing software in SA, providing services across multiple industries. The Striata Application Platform, which incorporates the Striata eBilling Suite and Striata eMarketing Suite, is a suite of blended marketing, sales and service solutions aimed at effectively managing in and outbound electronic communication and secure document distribution.
The eMessageX offering is similar to Striata's, with a key focus on developing and fulfilling communication strategies using e-mail, interactive Web sites and SMS messages.
The eMessageX brand and processes will remain unchanged for the initial period after the acquisition, and all staff members will move across to Striata. eMessageX directors Candy Goodman and Mia Papanicolaou, who both have considerable experience in electronic marketing and communication, will become members of Striata SA's executive management team.
Says Goodman: "The combination of our strong strategic marketing focus, and Striata's extensive experience and solid reputation for message delivery, promises to provide both efficiencies and opportunities. We are very excited to be embarking on the next phase of our business development."
