Striata partners with ACCtivity, boosts electronic billing/payment

Johannesburg, 30 Jan 2004

Central government, its agencies such as the UIF and SARS, major commercial banks and financial institutions are driving widespread change from conventional billing and payment systems to electronic systems that work seamlessly with financial and accounting software programs.

With an eye on this growth market, Striata, a leading provider in electronic bill presentation and payment (EBPP) software, and ACCtivity, a division of Lorge producing enterprise software and integrated solutions for ACCPAC accounting software, have signed a partnership agreement.

Striata and ACCtivity will market an application plug-in to provide ACCPAC users with seamless integration to Striata e-billing software. The module has been developed from the ground up using the ACCPAC software development kit to ensure complete adherence to the ACCPAC technical standards.

"The e-billing plug-in module will greatly increase ACCPAC functionality for users as well as help to grow new sales opportunities for ACCPAC Business Partners," says Striata channel manager David James.

James adds that ACCtivity is well known within the ACCPAC market for its expertise in ACCPAC applications development. "We recognised ACCtivity's ability to successfully market and implement the e-billing and, backed by Lorge's support base, they were the natural choice when we began to look for a development partner."

ACCtivity business manager, Neels du Plooy says the company's goal is to provide world-class software to the ACCPAC Business Partner community. "We ensure ACCtivity clients benefit from solutions that not only improve ACCPAC functionality but also create new business opportunities, the partnership with Striata complements our ability to do so."
