Striata (formerly The E-mail Corporation) has completed a smooth migration from the SDN Internet network to ICOZA, SA's first independently empowered first-tier ISP.
Says Alison Wright, Sales Director of Striata: "Bandwidth and uptime are critical to our business. Our migration to the ICOZA infrastructure gives us access to 166MB of international bandwidth and 1 328MB of local bandwidth."
Striata, market leader in electronic bill presentation and payment, has grown significantly both in reach and resources over the past four years. Latest figures indicate volumes of over 12 million e-mails per month, sent from multiple servers hosted both locally and internationally.
Says Wright: "We expect these numbers to increase dramatically during the course of this year. Our increased bandwidth will allow us to push our volumes and delivery capabilities even further."
ICOZA is a joint venture between the J&J Group (51%) and Internet Solutions (49%), and is building on the existing tier one platform that ICOZA accesses from Internet Solutions.
"ICOZA is the only BEE tier one ISP in SA. We have our own tried and trusted infrastructure and are not riding on anyone's back. We have a rich product set and offer value-added services (e-procurement, e-billing, integration, security and other services) alongside our standard ISP services offerings, with credible operational and technology partners," says CEO, Rodney de Koch.
Says Wright: "Contracting ICOZA for the supply of Internet connectivity has met one of our key objectives this year, to implement our black empowered procurement (BEP) strategy. Bandwidth is by far our largest monthly purchase, and we are pleased to have purchased our bandwidth through a BEE company."
Since ICOZA was launched last year, and it has steadily grown its base of clients, which includes Department of Trade and Industry, First South (Credit Suisse), Striata, Perago, Financial Services, Xylocom, Africa Venture Partners, Lesaka, Aptronics Network Solutions, Solutions Dynamics, e-Freight, SensePost, Choice Technologies and others.
