Successful CM requires culture shift

Companies interested in outsourcing their IT operation to a third party managed service provider should consider how their business will have to adopt in the long-term, it has been claimed, according to Global Gold Internet Services.

According to Daragh O'Brien, director of publicity and recruitment at the International Association for Information and Data Quality, the use of a content management system will require more to be moved around a company's network, whether it is hosted internally or by an outside Web hosting service.

He said: "The goal should be to embed a quality approach to the management of information that is not a project, but the way things get done."

Open Text drives Web solutions

Enterprise content management provider Open Text is planning to expand its suite of next-generation Web solutions after acquiring Vignette, says PR Newswire.

Open Text says its solutions will help organisations establish better connections to customers and use the Web as a channel for new revenues.

John Shackleton, president and CEO of Open Text, says: “Our plan is not to eliminate products, but to offer solutions that help our customers effectively fulfil their organisational needs - from strategic online initiatives to day-to-day site management tasks”.
