Successful migration of corporate network

Johannesburg, 16 Mar 2004

During the first quarter of 2004 Internet Direct were consulted by a large corporate to migrate their network Operating Software from Microsoft Windows 2000/Linux Red-Hat to Microsoft Windows 2003.

At the time of planning, the current systems in place were:

1. Two x Linux Red Hat as their firewall, FTP and Proxy.
2. One x Microsoft Exchange V5.5
3. One x Microsoft Windows 2000 as the Active Directory
4. Two x Microsoft Windows 2000 as the File and Print server
5. One x Microsoft Windows 2000 as the Financial server

Item one above was removed and a Microsoft Windows 2003 ISA / FTP server put in the place of Linux. Item two above was upgraded to Microsoft Windows v-2000 Item three, four and five were upgraded to Microsoft Windows v-2003

To avoid downtime, the project was scheduled over a weekend and three Engineers were placed on-site to ensure that the project would meet the Monday morning deadline.
