ITWeb is hosting a CRM 2.0 Summit that will educate delegates on the significant impact the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) will have on the way business is conducted in SA.
Topics to be covered include the changing customer environment, new technologies and the revolutionary change in customer expectations. In addition, trends, tools and technologies for CRM and contact centres will be addressed.
The summit, to be held on 30 August at the Forum in Bryanston, will provide practical insight to solving the issues facing enterprises that interact with, and manage customer communications.
Several legal and CRM experts will address the summit. Among them, Roger Knowles, a Durban-based attorney, will present how the CPA affects the ICT industry.
He says the new law exists to empower consumers and as they start to understand the legislation and the effects thereof, business will feel the effects and has to change the way in which operations are run.
Knowles will also examine the right to privacy from direct marketers, loyalty programmes and the importance of clear communication. He will also give practical examples on the implications placed on direct marketers, as stipulated by section 11 of the Act.
