Java Trojan raises concerns
Security experts have expressed concern that a Trojan such as the recently identified RedBrowser Trojan that targets Java phones, would be easy to write and circulate on the Internet, making a larger and more widespread problem for mobile users, reports Mobile Tracker.
RedBrowser targets traditional mobile phones running Java as well as newer generation SmartPhones. The Trojan appear to offer free Internet browsing, but instead sends text messages to premium rate services.
RedBrowser can run on any new phone or PDA that runs Java 2 Micro Edition, but appears to have been aimed only at phone users in Russia.
