Sun selects Hiperos
Sun Microsystems has deployed the Hiperos R Portal solution to manage its vendor relationships, reports Market Watch.
The selection of Hiperos is a part of an ongoing effort by Sun to enhance the value and standardise the management of its existing relationships with providers.
Initially, global teams at Sun will use the Hiperos solution to manage vendors in functional areas such as procurement, IT and facilities.
Xhead = IBM secures £200m deal
Friends Provident has appointed IBM to manage its IT requirements and deliver its future infrastructure services in a 10-year deal worth over £200 million, according to Market Watch.
The deal could potentially generate initial annual cost savings of around £6 million a year for Friends Provident. This is expected to increase over the term of the contract.
The contract with IBM will assist in achieving further cost reductions by increasing standardisation, implementing rigorous processes, and using shared infrastructure and offshore resources.
