SunSystems Version 5 launched

Johannesburg, 06 Sep 2001

A new financial and business management software suite designed for use by major organisations and those operating globally was launched recently. The package, SunSystems 5, is aimed at global businesses that need to share and interrogate financial and business information from offices located in more than one country. It complements the 4.2.6 version, which will continue to be supported.

SunSystems 5 offers great flexibility, web-based reporting and can link with third party applications via SunSystems Connect, an integration toolset. The software has a new Windows interface and maintains the strengths of existing products of multi-lingual, multi-currency and high scalability. Its features have been enhanced to reflect the growing requirements of global businesses. It has dual base currency - where three currencies can be held against any transaction - and a multi-lingual data dictionary so that users can alter terms to suit their needs. And its new order fulfilment function gives greatly increased functionality in purchasing, sales and inventory management.

New features of SunSystems 5 include:

* Control desk - a one stop shop for making enquiries and processing transactions from a single user-defined display

* Web-based reporting - enables reports to be accessed and delivered remotely

* Form designer - allows users to create an unlimited number of their own forms with easy to use translation facilities

In 1993 AdvanceNet was appointed as the Southern African SunCentre by Systems Union. This world-class software product is installed in over 22 000 sites world wide (as well as over 600 sites in Africa) and is used by many of the world`s major corporations. AdvanceNet provides a full suite of peripheral services including; implementation, training, customisation, project management and ongoing support.
