Tarsus Technologies, the value-add distribution arm of MB Technologies, is pleased to announce the availability of the NetworkAIR RM Air Distribution Unit from APC to the local market.
A unique 2U rack-mounted fan unit, the Air Distribution Unit works with an existing air conditioning system to supply cool air to the equipment contained in a rack enclosure. This system uses the unit`s dual fans to boost the airflow within the enclosure and can improve air delivery in poor static pressure areas, eliminating dangerous hot spots and helping to solve many of the heat-related issues faced by the data centre manager.
The Air Distribution Unit connects into the raised floor and pulls supply air directly into the enclosure, thus preventing the cooled air from mixing with warmer room air before it reaches the equipment. If the floor is not raised the unit draws air from around the bottom of the enclosure where it is coolest.
"The APC Air Distribution Unit provides an air pattern to deliver more equalised flow from the top to bottom of the rack enclosure," says Darryl Squara, APC product manager at Tarsus Technologies. "Hence the equipment in the top of the enclosure also receives lower inlet temperatures, which improves the life of the equipment."
