Businesses have been forced to adapt to the pressures of the current economic climate. While IT budgets have been cut to accommodate the downturn, the need for efficiency and innovation has increased by the same proportion.
To this end, the ITWeb and SCT business applications survey will investigate companies' attitudes towards investing in business applications while constrained by reduced IT budgets.
“Companies are dealing with the impact of the recession in two ways: some prospects are taking a wait-and-see approach, and will invest when the upturn is clear. Other prospects see the recession as an ideal opportunity to introduce efficiencies, which could include buying better systems,” says Genevieve Strydom, business development manager at SCT Services.
The survey will also investigate whether the right business application will benefit one's company during the recession. Ultimately, the survey will highlight how the decision-making process, towards implementing new business applications, has changed during the recession.
The feedback from this survey will shed light on what effect the economic recession has had on companies' investments in business applications. In so doing, the industry will be better equipped to enhance and tailor business applications to suit today's market needs.
