An IT Service Management Survey, by Numara Software, running on ITWeb until 16 March, aims to gauge the level of IT service management (ITSM) adoption in SA.
Although it has been proven that IT enables business innovation, IT organisation is still regarded by the business as a cost centre, notes Vernon Vlok, marketing manager of Numara Software SA.
IT departments need to transform to be as cost-effective and as responsive to business needs as possible, says Vlok.
ITSM is a process-based practice intended to align the delivery of IT services with business needs, with an emphasis on benefits to customers. “ITSM is an ethos that can help IT departments to become growth centres by operating as though they were a standalone business, delivering services to value-conscious customers,” explains Vlok.
The Numara Software ITSM Survey runs on ITWeb for two weeks, and aims to examine how South African business currently views ITSM.
A report based on the survey results will be published on ITWeb and the Numara Software Web site, and respondents can opt to receive a guideline for the implementation of an ITSM structure in their company.
In addition, all respondents stand a chance to win one of three 8GB Apple iPod Touch gadgets, worth R3 400.
Complete the survey questionnaire online before 16 March.
