Britain's Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle was the star of the most popular video of 2009 on video site YouTube, says The BBC.

The Scottish singer's surprising rendition of I Dreamed A Dream on the show has been watched by more than 120 million viewers worldwide.

It had more views than the next three most-watched videos combined.

McDonald's to offer free WiFi

McDonald's will offer customers free WiFi from January next year, states eWeek.

McDonald's currently charges $2.95 for two hours of WiFi service, which is run by AT&T, since it bought Wayport.

The free coverage will be available in McDonald's approximately 11 000 locations in the US, as well as those in Canada that currently offer WiFi.

IBM hit by mainframe lawsuit

Neon Enterprise Software has filed legal papers in a Texas court accusing IBM of anti-competitive practices, writes Computing.co.uk.

Neon alleges that IBM is trying to hamper sales of its zPrime tool, which allows enterprises to run IBM System z business application workloads on Neon's lower-cost zIIP and zAAP speciality processors.

In a statement released to support its legal claims Neon said that by using its tools IBM customers would save money on expensive equipment.

TJX hacker mulls Asperger's defence

A court filing has indicated that the international hacker who admitted to stealing more than 130 million payment card numbers has mounted a new defence claim that he might suffer from Asperger's syndrome, reports The Register.

Attorneys for Albert Gonzalez filed a report from a forensic psychologist that questioned the criminal hacker's "capacity to knowingly evaluate the wrongfulness of his actions and consciously behave lawfully and avoid crime," according to federal prosecutors. The report went on to state that his "behaviour was consistent with description of the Asperger's disorder."
