Sybase, Ascential partner on BI

Software supplier Sybase SA has partnered with enterprise data integration solutions provider Ascential Software SA to resell Ascential's DataStage product suite. The data integration suite will complement Sybase's business intelligence offering, providing ETL (extraction, transformation and loading) and data integration capabilities.

Under the terms of the agreement, Sybase will resell DataStage products as part of its complete business intelligence solution.

Says Alastair Jacobs, business development manager at Ascential Software SA: "Sybase has proven to be one of the leading BI solution providers in this country, with a track record in architectural design, implementation and support of BI systems. It made business sense to partner with the company and expose its client and prospect base to Ascential's DataStage technology.

"Sybase has a number of skilled DataStage consultants and also provides DataStage training. As one of our most successful partners, the Sybase sales team understands the value proposition around using a tool such as DataStage."

Jacobs adds that tight integration with the Sybase offering will provide customers with a complete solution from a single vendor.

The DataStage family of products helps companies worldwide to create and manage scalable, complex data integration infrastructures for initiatives such as CRM analytics, decision support, enterprise applications and e-business. With data integration capabilities, metadata management and data quality assurance functions, DataStage is ideal for enterprises wanting to use information assets for competitive advantage.

Sybase's endorsement of DataStage is in line with Ascential's strategic objective to collaborate with solutions and systems integration specialists.

This can include CRM analytics, and the implementation of e-business and enterprise applications.
